Insurance
PLEASE NOTE: AS OF 9/5/25, WE NO LONGER ACCEPT ANY AETNA INSURANCE PLANS EXCEPT AETNA MEDICARE SUPPLEMENT PLANS.
If you are concerned about whether we take your insurance, please call us at least two full business days prior to the appointment to make sure we accept your plan.
Please bring your insurance card to every visit. Your insurance card will need to be checked at each visit to keep our files up to date and to help ensure your insurance provider is billed correctly.
Our office bills participating insurance carriers for covered services. Insurance cards must be presented at the time of service to verify coverage. HMO patients are responsible for obtaining a referral from the primary care provider prior to the appointment. If a referral is not received, you may be responsible for the payment. Co-payments are expected at the time of service and are the responsibility of the patient or guardian of the patient.
Currently, we participate with the following insurance companies, but not all of their plans: Blue Cross, Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare, United HealthCare, Cigna, Medicare, Tufts, Private Healthcare Systems, and Unicare. (Disclaimer: Although this list is accurate at the time of posting, our participation status is subject to change at any time. Please call your carrier for confirmation. The customer service number for your insurance is on the back of your insurance card).
Please be aware that although we submit your claim on your behalf, the filing of the claim does not guarantee payment by your carrier. Covered and non-covered services, proof of eligibility and various exclusions cannot be determined until your carrier processes the claim. Therefore we do submit insurance claims with the understanding that you are responsible for any non-covered services as well as co-payments and deductible.
Our staff would be happy to answer any questions that you may have.
Referrals
If your insurance is a managed care plan and requires a referral please contact your Primary Care Physician (PCP), to request a referral. Please note we are not able to call the PCP office for referrals. If the referral has not been received by our office you will be asked to sign a waiver which indicates that you are personally responsible for full payment for the office visit if your claim is denied by your insurance company.
Non-covered and Cosmetic Services
Payment is expected in full at the time of service.
Payment
We accept cash, check, Mastercard, Visa, American Express, and Discover.
