Dr. Kim graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard College, where she received the Harvard National Scholarship Award and the John Harvard Scholarship Award. She completed her medical studies at Harvard Medical School, where she received a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Fellowship Award to study cancer biology. She completed her medicine internship at Brigham and Women's Hospital and her dermatology residency at the Harvard Combined Dermatology Residency Program.
Prior to joining Newton Wellesley Dermatology Associates in 2019, Dr. Kim was an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School, where she served as Director of the Pigmented Lesion Clinic and Associate Director of the Multidisciplinary Cutaneous Oncology Program at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. A nationally recognized expert in melanoma, atypical moles, dermoscopy, and total body digital photography, Dr. Kim is invited regularly to teach and speak at professional meetings and has published numerous research articles in top-tier journals including JAMA Dermatology and the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. In 2019, she also joined the Department of Dermatology at Tufts Medical Center as Director of Melanoma and Pigmented Lesions.
As Director of the Melanoma and Pigmented Lesion Program at Newton Wellesley Dermatology Associates, Dr. Kim offers expert skin cancer screening, mole exams, dermoscopy, and mole mapping with innovative digital imaging technology. She is also dedicated to general and cosmetic dermatology, offering procedures such as Botox, fillers, and laser removal of blood vessels and brown spots.
Dr. Kim is a board-certified dermatologist, a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and holds national leadership positions including Chair of the National Pigmented Lesion Subcommittee collaborative research group. Having grown up in the local area, Dr. Kim is honored to be serving her community.
