Our 2-year Gap Year Medical Assistant program is designed for pre-med and pre-PA students looking to gain hands-on clinical experience before continuing their education. Gap Interns work directly alongside our dermatologists and physician associates, assisting with office procedures, biopsies, and skin treatments, while also taking on administrative responsibilities such as scribing patient visits, managing EMR documentation, and coordinating daily clinic workflow.

What sets our program apart: interns get broad, hands-on exposure across general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology — not just one narrow track — with close, one-on-one mentorship from our physicians rather than being one of a large, rotating group. We invest directly in your next step, offering structured support for medical school and PA program applications, including interview prep and strong letters of recommendation from providers who actually know your work.
